MainOne CEO, Funke Opeke has been listed among the “20 Women Who Will Shape Events in Nigeria in 2020” by THISDAY Newspapers.
As part of its series on prognosis of what the new year has in stock for Nigeria and its citizens, THISDAY Board of Editors has announced a list of outstanding women it believes would have significant impact on the political and business environment that would shape events in the country.
Dubbed ‘The Cable Lady’, Opeke is profiled for her company, MainOne’s achievements since its launch, from owning an open access 7,000 kilometer undersea high capacity submarine cable, to building West Africa’s largest Tier III Data Center, MDX-i Lekki and more recently, the extension of its submarine cable to Grand Bassam, Cote d’Ivoire, which was the final leg of its expansion to reach Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire.
Other prominent female personalities profiled include; Aisha Buhari, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Amina Mohammed, Chimamanda Adichie, Ibukun Awosika and Tiwa Savage among others.
